It’s All About the Coffee
If you know me, you know I’m absolutely obsessed with coffee. I would drink it all day if I could. Something about that dark bitter taste in the morning that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Honestly, you can’t beat it.
Timeline of my coffee journey:
☕Sweeteners, sugar free syrups, sugar free creamers with all the seasonal flavors

☕Light roast coffee but ★black ★ any brand + using my Keurig (It’s all the same, right? —I was VERY wrong)

☕Dark roast coffee ★ black ★ specific brands + using my French Press

☕Dark roast coffee ★ black ★ specific brands + using my new fancy coffee machine that provides a thin layer of foam with each cup (chefs kiss)
It has been my mission to find coffee beans that I am truly obsessed with—I fear I’ve become a little bit of a coffee snob (oops). I try to find a lot of my coffee beans from local coffee shops rather than chains. I love to support local and I have come to realize that the coffee is usually just all around better than your typical Starbucks or Dunkin (don’t come for me please HA). I’m still always on the hunt, but here are some amazing ones that I consistently buy:
Huckleberry Roasters
This one is a local coffee shop in Denver and they have a few physical locations. I will always stock up when I visit Denver because I’m usually there at least once a year. I also order online when I want to treat myself. Phantom Limb blend is my all time favorite but you really can’t go wrong with any of their blends (Blue Orchid, Sound and Vision, Colombia Dario Rodriguez etc.) IG: @huckleberryroasters
Java Central
This one is a local coffee shop here in Westerville, OH. I just discovered this recently as I don’t normally go to that area of town. BUT wow I love this coffee. When I go, I buy some whole beans and with that you get a free cup of coffee so it’s a win/win. I usually get the Colombian or Guatemalan blend which are both medium roasts but I will usually alter the way I make the coffee to make it stronger and taste darker. For example, using my French press + increasing the brew time, grinding the coffee beans a little finer, or just using more coffee. You can also order online if you aren’t local to this area! I highly recommend. IG: javacentral1
Trader Joes Black Acres Roastery- Colombia Aponte Honey
Black Acres Roastery is a coffee roaster located in Baltimore City. I found this specific Colombia Aponte Honey blend at Trader Joes. This one is a little different than what I’m normally used to. If I can’t have a super dark blend, I need an interesting flavor. Its lighter, more floral and fruitier and has that honey flavor.
I’ve become so extra with my coffee but it’s something that makes me so happy every single day so I’m leaning into it! I think everyone should find their equivalent of coffee to them and lean into it. It’s about being grateful for the little things in life, and enjoying every minute of it.
P.S- I might have to find some good decaf beans so I’m open to recommendations! ❤︎
